Leesl: Well, we survived. It’s Thursday, the confetti is finally swept up, and Andy is still wearing his “I Picked Seattle” grin like a badge of honor. Since everyone and their mother has already dissected the X’s and O’s, we’re skipping the rehash and getting straight to what actually mattered: the food, the vibes, and a little local pride.
🌮 The MVP: Tacos & Cold Coronas!
Andy: While the Patriots’ offense was struggling to find the end zone, we had no trouble finding the bottom of the salsa bowl. Our “Welcome Tacoholics” taco bar was the real winner of the night. There’s something about a “Dark Side” defensive struggle that makes you appreciate a perfectly seasoned carnitas taco and a lime-heavy Corona even more.
🎤 The Halftime “Boda”: Lady Gaga & Bad Bunny!
Leesl: I’ll be the first to admit it: being from San Antonio, I don’t need to catch every single lyric to know a good party when I see one. Bad Bunny turned the field into a giant Puerto Rican plaza, and the energy was infectious. 💃
The absolute highlight for me? The wedding. Seeing a real couple get married right there on the stage while Lady Gaga emerged to sing a Latin-fused version of “Die With a Smile” was incredible. 💍✨ It was the jolt of life the night needed, especially since the game itself was such a defensive grind. You don’t need a translator to appreciate a dance party and a love story! 🐰🕺
📍The “Como” Connection: DFW Proud!
Andy: Even though we’re up here in McKinney, we keep that Metroplex pride front and center. There were 9 players from the DFW area in this game, but the story of the night belongs to a unique bond from the Como neighborhood in Fort Worth. 🏘️
Milton Williams (Patriots) and Riq Woolen (Seahawks) didn’t just grow up in the same area—they grew up together, played in the same pee-wee leagues, and went to the same daycare. 🏈 Facing off on the world’s biggest stage is a “once-in-a-generation” coincidence. Woolen might be the one bringing the ring back to North Texas but seeing that local brotherhood shine at Super Bowl LX is a win for the whole 214 and 817 area. 🤠✨
📺 The Commercials: Did Anything Stick?
Leesl: Since this was a “Commercials & Coronas” guide, we have to mention the ads. While most were leaning heavily into AI, the Lay’s “Last Harvest” potato farm story really tugged at my heartstrings. But let’s be real—after the third Corona and a plate of tacos, the ads started to blur into one giant montage of celebrities trying too hard.
Moving On…
The NFL has no off-season, and frankly, after Andy’s clean sweep of the picks, I’m ready to move on too. Next stop: Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine. 🏃 Time to find some offensive players who can actually score a touchdown, so we don’t have to watch five field goals next year.
Andy’s Final Tally: 🏆 Clean Sweep (Regular Season, Playoffs, Super Bowl)!
Leesl’s Final Tally: 🌮 Best Host & new Bad Bunny Fan Club President!
