Week of December 7, 2025
This was the week of the Texas comeback! After two straight weeks of falling short, D-Town claimed the crown, powered by the dominant play of the Dallas Stars and the efficiency of the Mavericks. Chi-Town, meanwhile, suffered heartbreaking losses in the NFL and NHL, plus a huge injury scare.
Here is the latest from the field, the hardwood, and the ice in our Dallas vs. Chicago clash:
🏈 Gridiron Glory (NFL)
D-TOWN: Dallas Cowboys
Leesl: My Cowboys fought hard in a high-scoring 30-44 loss to the Detroit Lions. While 30 points on the board is never bad, the defensive effort clearly needs to be addressed heading into the final stretch of the season. We saw flashes of what this team can be, but consistency is the key to holding a playoff spot in the NFC. They must rediscover the defensive grit that defined our winning streak earlier this season if we want to make a serious title push.
Record: 6-6-1
CHI-TOWN: Chicago Bears
Andy: My Bears fought for four quarters and proved they belong in the conversation for the NFC’s top seed. We erased a deficit to tie it in the fourth, showing the grit and resilience this team is built on. Leesl is celebrating a loss that happened days before our game—if that’s all she has; she’s clearly worried about the Cowboys’ poor defensive effort. Minimal penalties, maximum effort: Our playbook is working, even if the last play didn’t go our way.
Record: 9-4
🏀 Hoops Heat (NBA)
D-TOWN: Dallas Mavericks
Leesl: My Mavs have demonstrated a notable improvement, winning five of their last six games, which has generated significant momentum. The return and strong play of Anthony Davis from injury has been a major factor, along with the young talent that’s stepping up every night. This kind of consistency is crucial in a packed Western Conference, and we’re proving that we’re built for a long-season grind.
Record: 10-16
CHI-TOWN: Chicago Bulls
Andy: My Bulls faced a grueling schedule this week, including a tough night against the elite Warriors. However, we showed our mental toughness by immediately bouncing back with a high-scoring 129-point road output against the Hornets. This team is an offensive powerhouse, ranking top ten in the league in scoring. We know how to put the ball in the basket, and that resilience is the mark of a contender.
Record: 10-14
🏒 Blade Battles (NHL)
D-TOWN: Dallas Stars
Leesl: The Dallas Stars delivered a solid performance with four points in four games, showcasing the grit needed for a deep playoff run. The team showed amazing resolve, rallying late for a tough shootout win against the Penguins and grinding out a victory over Winnipeg. Our defense and goaltending remain elite, proving that the Stars are built on a bedrock of reliable, championship-level play every time they hit the ice. This consistency is the difference between a championship contender and a team watching the scoreboard run up the tally.
Record: 21-7-5
CHI-TOWN: Chicago Blackhawks
Andy: This was a week of major adversity for the Blackhawks. We had a brilliant 3-0 shutout against the Rangers that showed our potential, but that was completely overshadowed by defensive breakdowns in two terrible shutout and blowout losses. More critically, our team suffered a devastating injury to our star center, Connor Bedard, at the end of the Blues game. The loss of a generational talent forces the entire city to hold its breath. While the full extent of the injury is unknown, this kind of gut-check moment will either define our season or destroy it.
Record: 13-13-6
🎤 And, that’s that…
Leesl: I will accept the weekly crown 👑 for D-Town! After a couple of tough weeks, Dallas proved its depth and superiority on the ice and the court. Andy’s teams were defined by painful losses, blown division leads, and a devastating injury scare to their biggest star. The momentum is officially back in Texas. This round is on us! 🍻
Andy: We had a bad week, I’ll admit it. But Leesl, you are focused on momentary bumps while I’m looking at the long season. We took a big divisional loss and our star got hurt, yet we still managed a shutout victory and a strong NBA win. Chicago knows how to grind through adversity. Enjoy the crown for now, D-Town—you’ll need the break before our rematch. The gauntlet is thrown! 🥊
