Our Picks are IN!

👋 Welcome Back to the Gridiron Tension!

Leesl: We’re heading into Week 12, and the scoreboard is still looking a little lopsided. Andy is currently holding a two-game lead, an advantage he brings up roughly every 30 minutes. But don’t count me out just yet! With plenty of football left to play, the tables can turn on a single Sunday. And I am determined it’s this Sunday. I’m going aggressive attempting a 3-game swing to not only tie but gain the lead!

Your move, Andy. Go safe or go bold? Either way, better make ’em good, because the top of the leaderboard is calling my name!

Andy: Thanks, Leesl, it’s always good to be reminded of the score—two games up, for those of us scoring at home. You can talk about another ‘3-game swing’ all you want, but you haven’t given me a reason to worry. Let’s not forget what happened last week when you tried your little stunt to tie the score. You picked three ‘differences,’ and now you’re sitting here two games down. That aggressive strategy cost you a game, and you’re going right back to the well? I stick to the fundamentals, which is why I am winning. I’m taking care of business this week. Let’s see your picks as I am ready to expose your first flawed analysis.

Colts @ Chiefs

This is a must-win for the 5-5 Chiefs at Arrowhead to stay alive in the playoff picture. I’m betting on the proven Super Bowl pedigree, playing with their backs against the wall, over an opponent whose 8-2 record includes several close calls. I’ll take Mahomes and the 3.5-point favorites when the stakes are this high.

Eagles @ Cowboys

This is the foundation of my swing! The Eagles’ top-ranked O-line is COLLAPSING. They are without Pro Bowl RT Lane Johnson and C Cam Jurgens. Dallas is 4-1 at home and their defense will exploit this massive advantage to pull off the shocker.

Falcons @ Saints

This rivalry game is decided by injuries. The Falcons’ offense loses its top weapon, WR Drake London (PCL Sprain). Removing him cripples their passing attack, giving the home-team Saints’ defense a decisive advantage in a low-scoring divisional slog.

Andy: A ‘Calculated Blitz,’ Leesl? That’s what you call a high-risk gamble that cost you last week. Let’s look at your desperation picks. First, you’re clinging to the Chiefs like a life raft. I see a team that has played average football all year, and their defense will finally be exposed by the Colts’ elite running game that they cannot stop. That ‘safe’ pick is going to cost you.

Then you move to your two ‘upsets.’ You are banking your entire season on the Eagles missing two linemen—a slight edge that their coaching and depth will easily overcome against a flaky Cowboys team that folds under pressure. And the Saints? You’re picking the winner of the most inconsistent division in football based on one injured receiver. You tried the three-difference swing last week and failed. You will try it this week and just fall further behind. Good luck watching your ‘blitz’ turn into a sack.

Leesl: “Good luck watching your ‘blitz’ turn into a sack.” Wow, Andy, did you spend all week working on that one? While you were drafting clever one-liners, I was looking deep at the injury reports. You might call my strategy desperate, but I’m betting on facts—Eagles injuries, Falcons injuries, and the Chiefs’ home field desperation. You got cute with the Colts; I’m going for the kill with the Cowboys and Saints upsets. I need two differential wins to tie, and I’m calling for three to take the lead.

The Final Score!

Andy: And there you have it – an insight into our household on NFL Sunday!

With a 2-game lead, I’m feeling pretty confident, but I am not counting Leesl out just yet. The next few weeks will be crucial for her to start closing the gap. 🏈
