After dropping the prior five races, we roared back to life and swept both stops in the Golden State! From a great afternoon on Coronado Island to finishing strong in the Wine Country of Sonoma, the West Coast treated us right. Too bad we didn’t have a race at Fontana to make it a true California trifecta. Now, the series moves on to my home turf in Illinois, and I can already see another win on the horizon! 🏆

Leesl: Well, congratulations on your two little wins, Andy, but it’s time to stop California dreaming and face reality! You might have taken the weekly points crown, but you only managed to shave off a combined 60 points from my cushion. Meanwhile, I’m cruising into Illinois with a massive 425-point lead in the overall standings. Plus, let’s not forget who actually won the race at Sonoma: my guy SVG brought home the trophy. Sure, the rest of my lineup (looking at you, Logano, Reddick, and Hamlin) had a brutal day, but I’ll take a trip to victory lane any day. It’s time to leave the West Coast vibes behind, because as we head into the Land of Lincoln, we’ll see if your hometown luck can actually back up all that bluster! 💨

No More Right Turns: Back to the 1.5-Mile Oval

Andy: After a seven-year hiatus, NASCAR is finally back in Joliet! Chicagoland Speedway is legendary for its high-speed pack racing, 18-degree banking, and close-quarters finishes. In the 19 Cup races run here, we’ve seen 13 different winners—but only three of them are still active today: Brad Keselowski, Alex Bowman, and Denny Hamlin. Lucky for me, I have both Keselowski and Bowman anchoring my team this weekend. Talk about a home-field advantage! Combine that track experience with 18 drivers making their debuts here, and Windy City Racin’ is primed to keep this winning streak alive. 🏁

Leesl: Well, Lone Star Racin’ has officially arrived in your home state to disrupt those plans and get back to our winning ways. This 1.5-mile D-shaped tri-oval is exactly the kind of intermediate track where my squad consistently builds speed and racks up points, making it the perfect place to put the hammer down and extend my overall lead. 🔨

I fully expect Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick to bounce back big from that rough California swing. This track rewards drivers who can manage tire wear on old asphalt, and both of them are masters at it. In fact, Denny just went out and absolutely nailed his qualifying run to capture the pole position. For my race winner, I am riding with the hot hand on the front row—Hamlin is the points leader for a reason, and he’s going to show your home crowd how it’s done.

Andy: Denny might have the pole, but my pick, Kyle Larson, is starting right next to him on the front row after missing it by a mere fraction of a second. ⏱️ Since this track surface hasn’t been touched since 2019, experience and tire management are going to be everything. I’m rolling with Larson to get it done and secure our third straight weekly win.
