To be fair, his beloved Chicago Bulls have been out of the running for a hot minute now, so I think he’s just hit his basketball expiration date for the season. 💤 Don’t worry, honey, there’s always next year! But that means tonight, the blog is a 100% pure Silver and Black zone. 🖤🤍 Sorry, New York fans, but old loyalties die hard, and my hometown San Antonio Spurs are giving us a series for the ages.

Can we talk about how absolutely crazy this matchup has been? Three games played, three wins for the visiting team. The Knicks came right into our house and snatched Games 1 and 2 at the Frost Bank Center, leaving us all scratching our heads.🤯But then our boys packed their bags, flew into the absolute pressure cooker of Madison Square Garden for Game 3, and walked out with a solid 115-111 victory. If you’re keeping track at home, the home team is a combined 0-3.

Tonight, we are under the bright lights of NYC again for Game 4, and honestly? I think this wild road-warrior trend plays right into our hands. Here are three reasons why I’m confident our young squad ties this thing back up tonight:

1. The “Road Team Magic” Built into This Roster

You’d think a stadium as legendary and loud as the Garden would completely rattle the second-youngest roster to ever make the Finals—especially after dropping the first two games at home. But Andy actually made an excellent point about this squad: he feels they are simply the deeper team, and with their youth, they just go out there and play hoops without listening to the noise. 🎧🤫They aren’t trying to be the villains; they’re just completely unfazed by the hostile environment. Playing on the road seems to take the pressure off, allowing them to play looser and just focus on the hardwood. Winning Game 3 proved that the big stage doesn’t get in their heads.

2. The Wemby Adjustment Game

Victor Wembanyama is only 22, but his basketball IQ is already off the charts. After navigating the pressure of those first two home losses, he looked so much more settled in the Garden for Game 3, pouring in 32 points. Expect Coach Mitch Johnson to keep making adjustments tonight—using Wemby as a high-post facilitator to pull New York’s defense away from the rim. When Wemby starts drawing that double-team at the perimeter and feeding our shooters, the floor opens right up. 👌🎯

3. Taking a Punch is Literally Our Brand

If you’ve been watching this team all postseason, you know they almost prefer to start weak and finish with a sledgehammer. 🔨 Remember the Western Conference Semis against Minnesota? Dropped Game 1 at home, didn’t panic, and came back to steamroll them. Then the Conference Finals against Oklahoma City—we were down 2-1, and later down 3-2 with our backs completely against the wall. What did they do? Blew them out in Game 6 and marched right into OKC’s loud house to take Game 7 on the road. Dropping the first two home games to the Knicks was just data collection. Now that Coach Johnson and Wemby have figured them out, the momentum has completely swung.

Tonight’s Game Day Pint: There was only ever one choice for tonight. To keep the San Antonio roots alive while watching our boys play in New York, I am cracking open a classic, ice-cold Lone Star Beer. Nothing goes better with a crucial Spurs game than the National Beer of Texas! 🍺 🤠
