Week 4: Team Spirit vs. The Sneaky Little Devil

Leesl: We only have one difference in the Sunday slate, making our Eagles vs. Buc’s pick the true Game of the Week. One of those 3-0 records is about to go!

Andy: Wait, wait, back up a second! Our only difference is Eagles vs. the Buc’s? Not picking your Cowboys at home?

Leesl: I’m all about team spirit, but not that much team spirit! Let’s face it – Micah returning to AT&T stadium after all that drama. And, thank you Jerry – no tribute video? What did Micah say in response – “I’ll receive my tribute in a win!” Great!! I’m staying away from that pick.

Andy: Let me tempt you – I’ll remove the bet from last week’s game. No butler duties, pick the Cowboys and you can sit and enjoy all the games & a favorite beer, of course!

Leesl: Hmmm… I will make my final pick before Sunday – that sneaky little devil on my shoulder is telling me to take that bet! Stay tuned!!

Update!

The Sneaky Little Devil Wins & I Pick the Cowboys!

Well, I did it! That tempting offer from Andy—the elimination of the butler duties and a free pass to enjoy all the Sunday games with a favorite beer—was simply too good to resist. The Sneaky Little Devil on my shoulder won the debate.

My final pick for the Sunday slate is the Dallas Cowboys!

Yes, I know, I said I was staying away from the drama surrounding Micah’s emotional return to AT&T Stadium. But after sleeping on it (and imagining myself free from dish duty), I landed on three solid reasons to back the home team:

  1. The Home Field Advantage: There’s no place like AT&T Stadium when the energy is high. We all know how much the crowd can factor into a game like this, especially against a young quarterback.
  2. Micah Plan in Place: I have to believe the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator has been obsessively drawing up plays this week to neutralize Micah. They know his tendencies better than anyone, and they will have a plan to protect Dak.
  3. Defense Rises to the Occasion: The Cowboys defense is going to want to prove they are still a dominant force, even without one of their former stars. I expect a ton of pressure on Jordan Love, forcing mistakes and turnovers that keep the score low and the atmosphere electric.

So, Andy, the Cowboys pick is locked in. Let the best team win, but in the meantime, I’ll start chilling the beer.

Stay tuned for the full Week 4 results!
