Week 2:

The DakStreet Boys against the New York Giants in Dallas!

Leesl: Holy Schottenheimer, we got a win! This game was pure Blood & Honey, and I’m not just talking about the beer of the night by Revolver Brewing!

The “Blood“ of the game was the ugly, messy part. We’re talking about 14 penalties from the Giants and 160 yards they gave away, and we still barely managed to survive. The defense looked as confused as I did watching their zone coverage. They were completely out of sync and outmatched at various points, and it was a total flip-flop from what we saw in Week 1. This was a shootout that should never have been a shootout, and it wasn’t easy to watch.

But then came the “Honey“—the sweet taste of victory. It came from Dak’s impressive performance and what feels like a renewed leadership. There’s a new tone coming from him that I’m feeling really positive about. And, of course, a huge shoutout to our soccer player-turned-kicking superstar Brandon Aubrey. His clutch field goals not only tied the game but sealed the deal in overtime.

The Cowboys’ “W” was a struggle, but we’ll take it. Now, the question is, what does a fan do after their team gives up 52 points? Andy, what’s your “pour” report on the Bears’ performance?

Da Bears play the Lions in Detroit!

Andy: This week’s game for the Bears was all Blood, no honey. We got utterly demolished by the Lions, a team that just got embarrassed in Week 1. Giving up 52 points is a new low, even for us.

The defense looked completely lost, and the offense was a mess of turnovers and penalties. It was painful to watch, and I can tell you there was nothing sweet about it!

But there is a silver lining. I’ve seen enough of the Cowboys’ “win” over the Giants to know that your team is just as flawed as mine, if not more so. Your defense is a sieve, and you needed a hail mary from a kicker just to survive. That gives me all the Honey I need to get through the week. You can come out with a sloppy “W,” but when you step into Soldier Field next Sunday, you will be facing a team that has something to prove. We might be 0-2, but we’re the kind of team that plays with nothing to lose.

Leesl: Well, there you have it. One team survived, and the other got crushed. This season is already proving that no game is guaranteed, and a win is a win, no matter how ugly. While Andy’s team is probably feeling the sting of a humiliating defeat, my Cowboys are feeling the pressure to prove that our Week 2 win was not a fluke.

So now, two very different teams with two very different problems face off in Week 3. Andy thinks his team has a shot, and I think we have some major work to do. So, what’s your take? Who do you have winning: the Cowboys vs. Bears showdown next week?
